SFD Sodium Butyrate Forte is food for special medical use in the form of tablets, providing a source of butyric acid, which is the basic energy material for the epithelium of the digestive tract. It belongs to the group of short-chain fatty acids, which are the main source of energy for colonocytes, i.e. intestinal epithelial cells.
The two tablets that constitute a daily serving provide a dose of 480 mg of butyric acid with anti-inflammatory effects and digestive support.
Role of butyric acid
The main role of butyric acid is based on its anti-inflammatory effect, due to its ability to inhibit the secretion of inflammatory mediators in the intestinal mucosa. In addition, butyric acid is the main energy substance for the cells of the large intestine (colonocytes), nourishing them and ensuring their proper functioning. Moreover, it reduces the risk of leaky gut barrier, which has the effect of reducing allergies and inflammation.
Serving recommended for consumption during the day: 2 tablets a day, preferably with an evening meal.
The daily dose (2 tablets) contains:
Sodium butyrate – 600 mg
Including butyric acid – 480 mg
